Withrow Students Explore Career and College in Recent Job Shadow

April 2, 2019

Eighth-grade students at Withrow taking introduction to business are being exposed to Career and College Exploration. One hundred and forty students recently went out on a job shadowing experience at one of six sites, including Microsoft, Performance Lexus, the Cincinnati Police Department, The St. Gregory Group (Advertising and Marketing), The David J. Joseph Group, and Frost, Brown and Todd.

They learned about technology, the auto industry, policing, advertising and marketing, recycling and law. This was the second of two job shadowing experiences. In the fall, they went to two construction sites, the banking industry and UDF.

In February, eighth-grade students engaged in two financial literacy workshops facilitated by Frost, Brown and Todd.

They learned about budgeting, credit cards, checking, saving and investing.

On February 27, the students went to hear a presentation at Cincinnati State and visited two departments. The eighth-grade students at Withrow taking introduction to business are getting exposure and enjoying it.
